The magnitude of space is not defined by the area but rather its volume of it. We experience space as three-dimensional artifacts, not flat surfaces. Our ocular muscles are not restricted to a single frame of view but a vast field of view that can only be used once enabled by the space itself. Designing BLT was a visual experiment that could only be conceived by challenging our ocular muscles themselves. A space above is space below; a connection of volumes can only be achieved by something strong as tangible volumes in itself.
